President Trump says a ceasefire is now in effect after initially faltering. Whether it will hold remains to be seen. In talking to reporters, Trump said, “We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don't know what the f*** they're doing."

The Supreme Court granted the Trump administrations’s emergency request to resume deporting migrants to countries other than their homeland. This decision pauses a lower court’s block on the policy.
A judge denied the government’s request to detain Kilmar Abrego Garcia after failing to find strong evidence that he is a flight risk or gang member. However, as the judge noted, ICE will likely detain him again pending further removal proceedings.
Mahmoud Khalil sat for his first interview since his release from ICE custody. Khalil spoke to ABC News about his time in custody and promised to continue his fight for Palestinian human rights. He was arrested by ICE in March for his role in the on-campus Columbia protests.
A federal jury ordered a man to pay $500,000 in damages to a January 6th officer’s widow. The jury found the defendant liable for assaulting Officer Jeffrey Smith during the Capitol attack. Smith died by suicide shortly afterward, and his widow filed a lawsuit against his attacker.

P. Diddy’s trial is set to end later this week. Diddy’s lawyers told the judge they would only need two days to defend their client. Diddy’s lead attorney indicated that the defense had no plans to call any witnesses but would submit some evidence before resting its case.
The Oklahoma City Thunder won the NBA Finals after beating the Indiana Pacers 103–91 in Game 7 of the series. The Pacers’ star player, Tyrese Haliburton, suffered a serious Achilles injury in the first quarter, dealing a major blow to the team.

Protests have intensified following the police shooting of a street vendor during a demonstration.
Nearly 150 concertgoers were jabbed with syringes during attacks at a nationwide music festival in France. Officials have not confirmed the contents of the needles but said some victims were taken to the hospital for toxicological testing. Twelve suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.
